"It's only 11.45am on my first day reviewing the festival and I have just been to see a fringe first - live soap. This Is Soap is the Edinburgh Festival's answer to East Enders, devised daily from audience suggestions... I have a rendezvous with actress Fiona Staniland during the week of her guest appearance in the show as rival landlady Morag Blythe. I'm waiting in the City Cafe, sipping Cappuccino, when a tall figure cuts a dash across the room. I have to double take; this striking young woman is not someone you forget in a hurry..."
